Chicago, IL. ,The Force have become the ‘cardiac kids’, for the post season anyways, posting an identical 8-7 nail biting ,on the edge of your seat victory, this time against a talented Pittsburgh Passion (9-1) team. The win propels the Force to 10-0, and crowns the organization Eastern Conference Champions, and guarantees Chicago their first ever trip to the IWFL National Championship game at home, July 26, against the Western Conference winners, the Dallas Diamonds, who defeated the Seattle Majestics 38-6 last Saturday in Seattle WA. |

This year’s homerun derby was a fantastic spectacle of determination, raw power, and the plot line will undoubtedly be made into a Disney movie starring Josh Duhamel as Ranger slugger Josh Hamilton. Going along with the Disney movie theme, Hamilton said in an interview before the showdown that he had a dream that he was at Yankee Stadium for the homerun derby. He couldn’t recall how he performed in his dream, but ignoring the fact that he didn’t win the title in real life, I doubt anyone could have dreamt something so near perfect than the way he riveted the Yankee fans and had them cheering “Ham-il-ton” as he humbly smiled. The display he gave in the first round was something for the record books, even in Yankee Stadium. |

It’s that time once again to go back and see how the major’s hitting and pitching has done in the past week. With the all-star game approaching next week, there were some players that showed that they do, indeed, deserve to represent their team as one of the best in the league, then there were some players that were lucky that the votes were tallied before fans had a chance to witness their less-than-average performance. |

As of late, Brett Favre, former Green Bay Packers quarterback, has been in the news with the idea that maybe he isn't ready to call it quits yet. Yep, that's right, for another year Mr. Favre has said that it was his last game, cried his eyes out on national television, leaving us all to believe we would no longer see the "legend of a quarterback back" playing. Well turns out just like Tiger Wood's on a Sunday afternoon, Brett Favre wants to make a comeback, or at least that is the rumor. |

July 6, 2008 was a black day for Cubs' nation. Despite beating the Cardinals and winning the best-of-three series against their divisional rivals, a solemn cloud hung heavy over the hearts of the Second City faithful. The first-place Cubs, wrought with talent, heart and moxie, were altogether snubbed by All-Star voters across the nation. A paltry seven players were selected for the mid-season contest, and this action begs the question: Why not the entire roster? |
