Geovanny Soto should probably had the day off tonight after catching the 15 innings of last nights game. Lou Pinella had him in the starting line-up and if he was tired it didn’t show it. |

The sun set and almost rose on the Greek epic that was the Cubs 6:05 start against the Bucs that ended at 10:25 on Wednesday evening. At beautifully empty PNC park over 9,000 Pirate fans could be heard feverishly debating who the Steelers should take in the draft. Do not get me wrong... I'm not saying that the people of Pittsburgh have given up on their baseball team, just their owners. |

The Cubs and Pirates went on a, near five hour, roller coaster ride, Monday afternoon, which ended in a Cub’s win (10-8) in 12 innings. The Cubs are now on a roll, winning three in a row since losing three out of their first four games. Both teams struggled throughout the game, having to use at least seven pitchers each, due to their starters’ poor performances. The Cubs stretched to an early 7-0 lead, but soon saw their enormous lead whittle away. |

Derrek Lee’s homerun in the 7th inning and Carlos Zambrano’s strong outing helped the Cubs beat the Houston Astros. Zambrano once again showed that when he is on, neither he nor the Cubs can be beaten. "Big Z" again came out with a lot of enthusiasm and energy and for 7 solid innings he kept the Astros guessing. |
