Bridgeview, IL -On easily the most gorgeous day of 2009, the Chicago Fire played FC Dallas at Toyota Park in Bridgeview in front of a crowd of 13,120. The Fire entered the match undefeated and on top of the Eastern Conference, but FC Dallas, who are second from the bottom in the Western Conference, easily defeated the home team. |

Today the City of Chicago celebrated Chicago Fire Soccer Day, as the Fire welcomed the New York Red Bulls to Toyota Park in Bridgeview for the home opener. 11,633 people attended the match, and were treated to a 1-0 Fire victory. |

There were countless flashes at Toyota Park on Thursday night for the most anticipated game of the year. The Los Angeles Galaxy and David Beckham were in town to face the Chicago Fire and Cuauhtémoc Blanco. The struggling Fire beat out The Galaxy, who are fighting for their play-off lives, 3-1. |

John Thorrington scored the only goal for the Fire as they went on to beat the LA Galaxy at the Home Depot Center . Even though the Fire were missing several key players, as were the LA Galaxy, the Fire should have put the Galaxy away easily, but struggled instead. |
