It was just a matter of time that Ken Griffey Jr. would hit his first home run with the Chicago White Sox and move up the home run ladder, passing Sammy Sosa.

Friday night started off with A.J. Pierzynski hitting a home run in the first inning but this would not be a sign for a win to come. The Sox dropped the first game of the 3 game series to the Oakland A’s with a score of Athletics 6, White Sox 4.

After a disappointing series versus the Twins the Sox continued their 10-day road trip with a 3 game series against Kansas City, where the Royals took two games including a 14-3 win on Sunday. The series opener on Friday was not only a win but it was the first time Ken Griffey Jr. wore a Sox jersey and I have to admit it was fitting.

Could this be the player the White sox need to make the final push for this season. Could he bring the bat that has been missing? This White sox are built for now and if you didn't know that, I'll explain why.
