Cougars VS Peoria ChiefsCHICAGO, IL – The Kane County Cougars’ historic game against the Peoria Chiefs at Wrigley Field was played in front of a Midwest League record crowd of 32,103, but was suspended in the bottom of the ninth inning with the score tied 6-6. The game will be finished in Peoria on Wednesday, and will be followed by the regularly scheduled game

GENEVA – Despite seven solid innings, starter Jamie Richmond (5-6) took the loss as a costly error accounted for all of the opposition’s runs in the Kane County Cougars 3-2 loss to the Cedar Rapids Kernels on Sunday afternoon at Elfstrom Stadium. The loss resulted in the Cougars first series sweep of the season as they limp into the All-Star break.

The Kane County Cougars squeaked by the Quad Cities River Bandits thanks to a two out, eighth inning rally sparked by walk to newcomer Denny Hamblin. The Cougars broke the one-one tie to take home a 4-1 victory. Almost six thousand fans made the trek to see Kane County face Quad Cities in a matchup of two of the best teams in the division.

GENEVA – Starting pitcher Craig Italiano pitched 5 scoreless innings, but the Kane County Cougars offense was quiet in the Cougars 4-0 loss to the Quad Cities River Bandits on Saturday night in front of 8,068 at Elfstrom Stadium.

It’s a doubleheader today between the Kane Cougars and the Quad Cities River Bandits. They are two of the top teams in the league and are separated by only a few games. That didn’t chance as the teams split the doubleheader, with the Cougars sloppy winners of the first game and the River Bandits dominating game two.
