Ken Griffey Jr. is Alway Welcome - by Bill BizeauCould this be the player the White sox need to make the final push for this season. Could he bring the bat that has been missing? This White sox are built for now and if you didn't know that, I'll explain why.

Cabrera was signed to play shortstop for the sox for more then this year but it seems pretty evident that he will gone after this year. Which will then in turn move Alexi Ramirez over to his natural position. I do believe something will be done with either Konerko or Thome. If I'm Kenny Williams I would just do what you can with them and move Jermaine Dye over to the DH spot and let Swisher move to first. That again though is next season. Right now we are talking about this year.

Griffey comes into Chicago batting .245 with 15 homers and 53 RBI's. He will leave a a rough place in Cincinnati. The question really is where and how will he be used in this Whitesox lineup. He doesn't have the speed to play center anymore, and you cant take out Dye cause he has been playing great this season. Maybe the team MVP along with the hedgehog out in right field in Carlos Quentin. The bright spot is right now he can come in and maybe give you the bat that Konerko has been unable to give over the last two weeks.

Kenny Williams still has a lot of question marks he needs to answer. Unless another deal is done soon, he will have to find a way to get 4 guys the playing time they want. Swisher, Konerko, Thome, and now Griffey. Lets look at this deal though, I mean its not going to hurt the White Sox at all but It doesn't vastly make them the best team. Griffey has hit over 25 home runs in the last 3 season's, and I think we can expect him to finish about there again this year. Not to mention he is coming to a home run friendly ballpark.

The Sox gave up Nick Masset and Danny Richar. Again the Sox aren't losing in this trade if it turns out to not work. Richar lost his spot to Ramirez and chances are once the Sox feel Gordon Beckham who was there first round draft pick is ready to come up to the big leagues that middle infield will be set for many years. Masset, who was talked about as a possible fifth starter at some point has been struggling, so to see him go, isn't the end of the world. Chances are he was going to head to the minors with his recent struggles.

I do want to add this, since I can remember I have always had nothing but the but great respect for what Junior has done. In my eyes this is a true ball player. With all the steroids issue's that have taken over baseball in the past few years, the homerun seems to be a joke now. He recently hit his 600th homerun.....thats a lot of home runs for a guy I would stand up and say is as clean as a gym teachers whistle. I never have nor will I ever think Junior has used steroids. I think he did this all natural and with one of the prettiest swings I've ever seen. Him and Jim Edmond's would be a tough call for the homerun swing! soooo smmooootthhhh...This guy was born to hit homeruns! In his first at bat back when he played for Seattle as a 19 year old skinny kid trying to make a name for himself he went yard off the Chicago Whitesox.

I give this trade a “thumb's sideways,” due to the idea that it shouldn't hurt the Whitesox but at the same time it doesn't blow you away. Kenny Williams got his man in Griffey, someone he has been chasing for years. If you remember Williams went after him in 2005 for the playoff run but the trade was vetoed along the way. It sounds like a dream team when you think of the names on this team. Two prolific home run hitters in Thome and Junior. Is it to late though for this dream situation to occur....well we will soon find out. One thing I do know is we are getting one of the greatest ball players to play the game in a long time.
