Ben Gordon's days in a Chicago Bulls uniform may be over as contract negotiations between the shooting guard and the team have been slow moving, and Gordon told this to ESPN.com, "I guess it's safe to say I've played my last game in a Bulls uniform."
The shooting guard, who was the Bulls' sixth man for most of last season and has been the team's top scorer the past three years, also said his agent, Raymond Brothers, has been speaking with other teams about sign-and-trade possibilities.
"I'm pretty optimistic it'll happen," said Gordon. "It's very likely."
It looks as though Europe is an option for Ben Gordon. His agent did say that Gordon will not sign the Bulls' one-year offer of $6.4 million.
Gordon said that he's frustrated and "feels slighted" by the slow pace of negotiations with the Bulls. He said it would be best for him to play elsewhere since Chicago's backcourt is seemingly full, with Derrick Rose, Larry Hughes and Kirk Hinrich.
Chicago offered Gordon a five-year, $50 million contract last season, but he turned it down.
This continues a trend that the Chicago Bulls have firmly established; first round draft picks don't stay in Chicago. If Gordon leaves he will have company in that category. The first round picks highlighted below identify them:
